About Us

West Hampstead Hockey Club

As a club we have 8 Men’s and 7 Women's teams, and has been attracting players at all levels, from London and beyond, for nearly 40 years. We share a clubhouse with Hampstead Cricket Club and we play our home games at Whitefield School in Brent Cross.

Our members

We pride ourselves on our social scene, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. During the season we have a full social calendar, and over the summer we attend multiple tours, casual hockey open days, mixed hockey friendlies and other summer league competitions.

Our top teams play at a high level, and frequently attract high quality players from the UK and around the world.

Our beginning

HCC hockey was initially set up by Sultan Ganji, playing on the cricket pitches in front of our clubhouse. We entered the South league for the first time in the 1983/1984 season, expanding to two teams in 1990.

At the end of the 1995 season we become known as West Hampstead Hockey Club where we have grown in to the large 15 team club that we are today.

Cumberland Lawn Tennis and Hampstead Cricket clubs

West Hampstead hockey club is part of wider CLTC-HCC club where collectively we have over 2000 members actively playing Tennis, Squash, Cricket, Hockey, Bridge, Backgammon, Table Tennis, Snooker, and Golf.

The club is steeped in tradition with tennis and cricket being played on site as far back as the 1800s.
