Kathrin Jacobsen, Women’s 1st team goalkeeper, secured a bronze medal this season in the Masters 2023 Outdoor Euros and 2024 gold in the Indoor World Championships, both taking place in Nottingham!
After coming back from an Achilles injury in 2022, and playing for Germany, this makes it her second bronze medal in as many years after success with the Masters in Cape Town in 2022.
The process involved trial camps six months before the events and training camps for the final selected players, meaning Kathrin had to travel back and forth to Germany in order to train with the team. Both competitions involved gruelling schedules of game play, with 7-8 games within a short space of time.
When asked about her accomplishments, Kathrin said: “Winning is always nice of course but even more so if it’s for your country and alongside some of your oldest friends.”
